Le Havre Port, the 5th largest sea port in Europe, is seeking greater links with Vietnamese businesses. Jean Marc Lacave, executive director of the Port Authority, said in a press conference on Tuesday that Le Havre would be a good gateway for Vietnamese companies wanting access to European Union markets.
In the past few years, the volume of Vietnamese goods exported to Europe via Le Havre has increased significantly, he said. The French port has also been a major jumping off point for European goods destined for Viet Nam.
Lacave said Viet Nam has emerged as a promising investment destination for French seaport associations due to its favourable legal framework for domestic enterprises wanting to establish joint ventures with foreign counterparts.
