Hyundai Heavy Industries launches PRISCO’s first Suezmax tanker

The first Suezmax tanker of Primorsk Shipping Corporation (PRISCO) has been launched today, May 18, at Hyundai Heavy Industries (S. Korea), the company’s press center reports according to RZD-Partner.  The 166,000-dwt tanker PRISCO Mizar will be put into operation in a number of weeks. This time is needed for fitting and equipment of the vessel, which is then to undergo sea trial. PRISCO will get two takers of this class from Hyundai Heavy Industries. The vessels were designed for deployment at the Baltic Sea. These 1А ice class tankers are to be fitted with steel screws and to have a decreased draft. Suezmax tankers are to be the company’s largest vessels.
