Yangshan port (China) to complete Phase 3 of terminal project by December 10

Shanghai's Yangshan port area aims to complete its Phase 3 Terminal, Stage A project by December 10 and achieve container throughput of 5.45 million TEU by the end of this year.
The Phase 3 Terminal project, which is divided into two stages, includes 7 container berths and a quay length of 2,650 metres. Stage A will bring a quay length of 1,350 metres and 4 berths.
By 2010, the Yangshan port area will be able to handle 15 million TEU a year, covering a quay length of more than 10 km, with over 30 berths. By 2020, there will be more than 50 berths with a capacity of 25 million TEU.
