Chilean shipping line CCNI is to launch a new service, GEX, on 7 June which will cover the US and the Gulf of Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, and by transhipment to the West coast of South America, the Mediterranean and northern Europe. GEX replaces the "Gulf and Caribbean Service", and will increase the number of ports. This full container service will operate on a weekly basis with a fleet of three 750-teu vessels, capable of carrying dry cargo, reefer and special equipment. The service will call at the ports of Houston, Altamira, Veracruz, Puerto Cortes, Puerto Limon, Cartagena, Puerto Cabello, Port of Spain, San Juan y Caucedo.
