Hong Kong's Legislative Council approves special frontage zone in Shenzhen Bay

The Ordinance on Hong Kong Special Frontage Zone in Shenzhen Bay has been passed by Hong Kong's Legislative Council.
This lays the legal base for Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) to start its special frontage zone in Shenzhen Bay.
Early in March 2002, the State Council approved a port constructed to associate Shenzhen with Hong Kong. The port was planned to be located in Shenzhen, divided into two separate zones for Shenzhen and Hong Kong respectively. After completion, each side will run its own Customs and bordering facilities, apply respective regulations and enforcement procedures, inspect passing vehicles and cargoes by suitable means.
