RCL (Thailand) receives second's 1,108-TEU ship from China yard

Thailand's RCL Group has taken delivery of a second 1,108-TEU containership built by the Jiangsu Eastern Shipyard in China.
The shipping group earlier took delivery of another vessel of the same size from the shipyard in March for deployment by its container shipping arm, Regional Container Lines, which focuses on the intra-Asia trade between the Far East, Middle East and Australia.
The new ship has been named the Nawata Bhum, and will join RCL's steadily increasing fleet and serve the trade with China.
The company said in a statement that "the China market has become an increasingly important part of the container business of Regional Container Lines". RCL's subsidiary company, RCL Shipping Co., is located in Shanghai and has branches all over mainland China from Tianjin in the north to Guangzhou in the south.
