Finished roll production was up 6.6% to 20.008 million tonnes, including growth of 2% to 8.372 million tonnes of flat products, 10.3% to 11.469 million tonnes of long products and 17.9% to 36,000 tonnes of stainless steel.
Russia ups steel output 6.6% in 4 mths
Russia raised crude steel output 6.6% year-on-year in January-April to 24.39 million tonnes, the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) said according to Interfax. Converter steel output rose 1.6% to 14.036 million tonnes and electric steel output grew 30.1% to 6.118 million tonnes. Pig iron production rose 0.4% year-on-year to 17.321 million tonnes.
