Throughput of the port of Tallinn (Estonia) up 4.8% in H1 07, y-o-y
In June 2007, throughput of the port of Tallinn totaled 2.98 million tonnes (-17.9%, year-on-year), Postimees reports. The decrease should be attributed to lower transit of Russian cargo. Transshipment of loose dry cargo (mainly coal) decreased 2-fold against the result of June 2006. Transshipment of oil products decreased by 10.9%, year-on-year.
In the half-year period, the port’s total throughput amounted to 21.715 million tonnes (+4.8%, year-on-year). Transshipment of transit cargo made 18.536 million tonnes (+5.6%, year-on-year). Export of Estonian goods decreased by 12.2% to 1.373 million tonnes, while import grew by 11.4% to 1.688 million tonnes.
