Throughput of Vladivostok Commercial Seaport exceeds 2 million tonnes in H1 07
According to current data of the production direction, throughput of Vladivostok Commercial Seaport handled 2.050.6 million tonnes of cargo in H1 07: export totaled 844.4 thou tones, import – 750.5 thou tones, coastal trade cargo – 455.7 thou tones, deita.ru reports. In the reported period, the port handled 1,516 vessels and 24,812 wagons. In general, the port handled 11.329.7 thou tonnes and 137.08 wagons of cargo every day.
In June 2007, the port handled 429.9 thou tonnes of cargo: export totaled – 145.5 thou tonnes, import – 174.1 thou tones, coastal trade cargo – 110.3 thou tonnes. In the reported period the port handled 306 vessels and 4,212 wagons. Average daily handling amounted to 14.332.3 thou tonnes of cargo and 140.4 wagons. Thus, in June, cargo handling grew by 21.6%, year-on-year. In the 6-month period cargo handling decreased by 7.3%, year-on-year, that should be attributed to a decreased handling of export metal goods (-32.4%, year-on-year) owing to changed situation at the APR market of metal goods and re-orientation of the port to transshipment of high paying cargo including containerized cargo, automotive vehicles and goods of timber industry.
Throughput of Vladivostok Container Terminal totaled 88,181 TEU in H1 07 (+26%, or +69,845 TEU, year-on-year). In June 2007 the terminal handled 18,589 TEU against 11,472 TEU handled in June 06 (+62%, year-on-year).
In January-June 2007, volume of export containers handled at VCT grew by 36 % – from 25,237 TEU to 34,420 TEU. In June 2007, it totaled 7,244 TEU against 4,508 TEU in June 2006 (+57%, year-on-year).
Handling of import containers surged by 35 % – from 23,112 TEU in January-June 2006 to 31,270 TEU in January-June 2007. In June it increased by 57 % – to 6,548 TEU against 4,149 TEU in June 2006.
In the first half of 2007, volume of coastal trade cargo handled at VCT grew by 5% to 22,491 TEU against 21,496 TEU in the same period of 2006. In June 2007, transshipment of coastal trade cargo grew over 2-fold – to 4,797 TEU against 2,815 TEU in June 2006.
