Income from Ukrainian state sea and river transport companies up 12% in H1 07, y-o-y
In January-June 2007, income from Ukrainian state sea and river transport companies grew by 12%, year-on-year, to $0.6 billion, Ukraine’s State Department of Sea and River Transport (UkrMorRechFlot) reports according toRZD-Partner. 15 of 18 state ports increased throughput (in H1 06 – 12 of 18). Among the most important ports the tendency changed in the ports of Odessa and Kherson, Reni and Izmail. However, the port of Sevastopol decreased its throughput by 2.5% owing to almost complete loss of transit cargo. In the first half of 2007, 4 companies were loss-making while in 2006 there were 9 loss-making companies.
