Lauritzen Kosan A/S has taken delivery of Isabella Kosan, the first in a series of ten highly advanced ethylene carriers. The ship is built by IHP Heavy Industries in Ulsan, Korea. The new type of combined LPG and ethylene carriers has a capacity of 8,000 cubic metres in two tanks. The cargo plant can cool the product to minus 110 degrees Celsius. The hull measures 115 metres overall with a beam of 18.6 metres. The ship is powered by a MaK main engine with an output of 5,916 kW to a service speed of 16 knots. Isabella Kosan sailed from Korea to the Arabian Gulf to take its first cargo. The ship is flying Isle of Man flag and is manned by a Filipino crew.
