The company said that during the first half of this year, its diesel engine sales were up 30 pct over the same period last year to 13.4 bln yuan.
China State Shipbuilding did not give other details of its oeprations for the first half.
Earnings per share for the first half were 0.759 yuan, compared with 0.442 yuan a year earlier. Operating revenue rose 29.8 pct to 1.35 bln yuan while operating costs rose 21.5 pct to 1.03 bln yuan.
China State Shipbuilding previously was known as Hudong Heavy Machinery but it changed its name after the July issuance of 400 mln new A-shares which were privately placed with China State Shipbuilding Corp -- Hudong's corporate parent -- as well as to Baosteel Group and Shanghai Electric Group.
The funds were used to buy 100 pct of Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co Ltd, making the company cover the whole industry chain of ship building.
