RAS net profit of Murmansk Shipping Company up to RUR 444.5 million in H1 07

In the first half of 2007, net profit of Murmansk Shipping Company under Russian Accounting Standard grew 2.264 times, year-on-year, to RUR 444.475 million from RUR 196.278 million, AK&M reports according to Murman.Ru. The company’s revenue grew by 15.412% to RUR 3.362 billion, gross profit – by 1.82 times to RUR 721.891 million from RUR 395.248 million, pretax profit – by 3.964 times to RUR 642.07 million.

Murmansk Shipping Company OJSC specializes in sea transportation of general cargo and passengers by its own fleet as well as the fleet of its subsidiaries and chartered vessels. The company also specializes in tanker transportation of hydrocarbons from the Northern fields of Russia; icebreaker assistance along Sevmorput (Northern Sea Way) and to the Northern ports of Russia; agency servicing of vessels and complete technical management.

The company’s authorized capital totals RUR 943.454 thou divided into 943.454 ordinary shares with nominal value of RUR 1 each. The company’s major shareholders are Federal Agency for Federal Property Management (25.5%) and Arctic Technologies LLC (61.472%).  In 2006, the company’s RAS net profit made RUR 292.8 million (2.8 times less as compared with that of 2005). The revenue decreased by 2.4% to RUR 6.1 billion, gross profit – almost 2 times to RUR 928.5 million.
