On August 24, Saaremaa Laevakompanii, Estonia-based shipping company, and representatives of a joint venture formed by BLRT Grupp and Fiskerstrand Verft Fiskerstrand BLRT signed a contract for construction of three new vessels, DELFI reports. The vessels capable of carrying 160 cars and 600 passengers will enter the line linking the islands with the main land in 2009 and in 2010. The length of each vessel is 97 meters, breadth — 18 meters, draft — 4 meters. The investors are Holostovi Kinnisvarahaldus, OÜ Toletum and HM Investeeringud OÜ. The guarantees are also provided by Nordea Pank and Eksportfinans (Norway).
