In January-July 2007, the ports of the Baltic states transshipped 85.352 million tonnes of cargo (+4.497 million tones, or +5.6%, year-on-year), RZD-Partner reports. The ports of Latvia account for 43.3% of this volume, those of Estonia – 34.9%, Lithuania – 21.8%. Throughput of Latvian ports grew by 5.2% - to 36.957 million tonnes, Estonian – by 2.8%, to 29.823 million tonnes, Lithuanian – by 11.2%, to 18.572 million tonnes. Throughput of the port of Tallinn climbed by 1.1% - to 24.334 million tonnes, Ventspills – by 11.6%, to 18.84 million tonnes, Klaipeda – by 14.4%, to 15.645 million tonnes.
