Investments into new check point at Latvian-Russian border to make $1.3 billion

Latvia’s state employment service plans to sign an agreement with design company Nams on a project for construction of a border check point Vientuli, RZD-Partner reports. Investments into new check point at Latvian-Russian border are said to make $1.346 billion. Design work is to start in September and to last for 6 months. The construction is scheduled for spring 2008.

According to primary data, the capacity of the new checkpoint is to make 500 vehicles per day. According to Latvia’s Ministry of Communications, the development of Latvian-Russian border requires $603.1 million.
