Kamil Iskhakov, the Plenipotentiary of the RF President in the Far Eastern Federal District proposed to change legislation on special economic zones that would simplify the process of creating them in the Far East.
He spoke on this at the meeting of the Presidium of the State commission on matters of social and economic development of the Far East, Buryatia, the Irkutsk and Chita Areas, which was held in Moscow, reported the press-secretary of the Plenipotentiary, Natalia Boglrvsakya.
"The law on special economic zones is more attuned for localities with wealthy entrepreneurs; so far the Far East cannot brag of their presence," Mr. Iskhakov noted.
According to Mr. Iskhakov, 10 million USD is the amount required to create a special economic zone. And one of the important conditions is that one million USD must be invested in the first year.
"The conditions stipulated in the law do not quite fit us today, and we need to seek other ways," the Plenipotentiary stressed.
