In the first half of 2007, commercial seaport of Evpatoriya handled 624,100 tonnes of cargo (-25%, year-on-year), the port’s Administration reports according to RBC-Ukraine. Transit grew by 19.3% - to 80,300 tonnes, export – by 7.3% to 32,500 tonnes. The fall should be attributed to a decrease in transshipment of loose construction materials in the sector of coastal trade cargo (by 1/3 to 477,100 tonnes).
In 2006, the port increased throughput by 4.5% - to 1.912 million tonnes including 10-percent growth of transit to 147,500 tonnes.
