Closed facilities include the Mexican Gulf ports of Dos Bocas, Cayo Arcas and Pajaritos (Coatzacoalcos).
These three ports already account for 80% of Mexico's daily oil exports. The Pacific Coast port of Salina Cruz has also been shut down.
This closure is one of many shut-downs in recent months which have repeatedly disrupted Mexican oil exportation.
Bad weather would halt shipments sometimes for days at a time while in some more serious cases has resulted in mass evacuation of oil rig workers.
Mexico is currently the world's ninth biggest exporter of crude oil, shipping some 1.7 million barrels per day (bpd) in 2007. It is also one of the three largest suppliers to the US.
