In 2007, throughput of Commercial Port of Vladivostok OJSC grew by 20%, year-on-year, to 4.855.8 million tonnes, the port’s press center reports. In the reported period, transshipment of containers totaled 223,496 TEU (+40%), automobiles and equipment – 262,909 units (+2%), metal and hard components 945,000 tonnes (-14%) including export of 259,000 tonnes of slabs (+70%) and import of 92,000 tonnes of large-diameter pipes. Handling of bulk scrap metal grew by 69% to 434,000 tonnes.
In the 12-month period the company handled 98,000 tonnes of timber (-27%, year-on-year), 357,000 tonnes of cellulose (+10%). Transshipment of import ore grew 1.5 times to 86,000 tonnes, import raw sugar grew by 10% to 170,000 tonnes.
Total transshipment of export cargo amounted to 1.993 million tonnes, import – 1.734.8 million tonnes, coastal trade cargo – 1.129 million tonnes.
In the reported period the company handled 3,241 vessels and 63,363 wagons.
