Russian Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov has called for transfer to notification system in the registration of Russian fishing vessels and cargos at home ports, Itar-Tass reports.
"It might be necessary to transfter to notification system and decrease the number of bodies by four or five times, allowing sailors to calmly call in ports and deliver their cargos, without waiting for officials to come for days on end," Zubkov said at a Cabinet meeting on Thursday over the development of Russian fisheries.
According to the prime minister, an earlier instruction ordered to adopt a single streamlined procedure to register Russian fishing vessels and cargoes at Russian ports.
"Today's procedures are simply paradoxical, with more than 20 inspectors per vessel, who, as a rule have no regard for either their own time or other people's," he said.
