Primorski investigative department of the Far Eastern investigation Committee of the RF Transport Prosecution has initiated a criminal case upon the missing of the Captain Uskov dry cargo ship in the East China Sea, RIA Novosti quotes Natalya Gelashvili, press secretary of the Far Eastern Transport Prosecutor’s Office.
The Captain Uskov freighter with its Russian 17-member crew flying the Cambodian flag left the Far Eastern port of Nakhodka on January 15 with a load of metal and set the course to Hong Kong. Radio communication with the ship was last established on January 20. The Vladivostok-based rescue-coordinating centre gave a signal on the disappearance of the Captain Uskov to the whole fleet, as well as notified rescuers in neighbouring countries.
The criminal case has been based on the Part 3 of Article 263 of RF CC (violation of safety rules when operating railway, air or water transport), the source reported.
