Transneft supposes that the East Siberia-Pacific Ocean pipeline (ESPO) will be able to reach its design throughput of 80 million tonnes of oil by 2025. The forecast is contained in the declaration of intent to implement the ESPO-2 project. Transneft says in 2010-2012 the pipeline’s throughput will reach 30 million tonnes, by 2016 - 50 million tonnes, by 2025 – up to 80 million tones, RBC reports according to Neft Rossii.
Large research centers and companies including U.S. Energy Information Administration (IEA), The Japan Institute Energy Economics (IEE), Chinese CNPC and Siberian Division of RAS say consumption of oil and oil products in APR states will grow to 1.38-1.39 billion tones per year by 2010, to 1.67-1.68 billion tones by 2020 and to 1.99-2 billion tones by 2030. The largest consumers are to include China, Japan and S Korea by 2030.
The Governor of the Primorsky Territory Sergey DARKIN signed the decree on design and survey works for the ESPO objects' construction, "Eastern Siberia - the Pacific Ocean" oil pipe line.
As RIA PrimaMedia was informed in the press-service of the Primorsky Territory Administration, joint-stock company "Transneft", its affiliated companies and planning organizations are permitted to carry out design and survey works in the Primorye districts where the objects of oil pipe will be located. Carrying out the works the company must keep all environmental regulations and land laws.
After considering the declaration on purposes of the construction of the oil pipe line "Eastern Siberia - the Pacific Ocean" that was presented by Nikolai TOKAREV, the President of "Transneft", the Governor signed a decree on design and survey works.
