This is the highest figure since summer 2007 when Russia drastically cut the number of freight service between the two countries as a reaction to the removal of Bronze Soldier monument in Tallinn in April.
In January, the company handled in average 19.1 trains.
In the first fourth months of 2007, Estonian Railways handled in average 36.1 freight trains, mostly oil trains carrying crude, petrol and heavy mazute from Russian refineries to Port of Muuga. From May until December there were in average 18.7 trains a day crossing the border, Railway Market-CEE Review reports.
