Russia reports higher foreign trade
Russia's foreign trade climbed 23.4 percent to $578.2bn in 2007 compared to a year earlier, the Russian State Federal Statistics Service reported, citing the Bank of Russia's data. Foreign trade surplus amounted to $132.1bn, having shrank 5.1 percent. Russia's exports went up 16.9 percent to $355.175bn and imports soared 35.4 percent to $223.058bn.
Russia's trade with countries outside the CIS increase 23 percent to $492.6bn, and trade with the CIS rose 26 percent to $85.6bn.
