In January-February 2008, Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port OJSC increased its throughput by 18.6%, year-on-year, to 928,900 tonnes, the port’s Director General Vladimir Kalinichenko says according to Gudok.Ru referring to Interfax.
Transshipment of export cargo grew by 19.3%, year-on-year, to 768,200 tonnes including 150,500 tonnes of coal and coke, 118,700 tonnes of fertilizers and heavy fuel oil. Transshipment of import cargo grew by 15.2% - to 160,700 tonnes including 53,200 tonnes of construction materials. Container transshipment totaled 21,850 TEU (+37.8%, year-on-year).
