The ports of Baltic states increased throughput by 0.5% in Jan 08, y-o-y

In January 08, the ports of Baltic state increase their throughput by 0.5%, year-on-year, to 11.521 million tonnes, Central Statistics Bureau of Latvia reports according to to Gudok.Ru referring to Interfax. The ports of LatviaEstonia – 25.9%, Lithuania – 25.3%. Throughput of Latvian ports grew by 26.5%, year-on-year, to 5.626 million tonnes, Lithuanian – by 19.1% to 2.916 million tonnes, Estonia – down 34.8% - to 2.98 million tonnes. In 2007, total volume handled by the ports of the Baltic states amounted to 139.223 million tonnes with 44.8% of cargo falling on Latvian ports, 32.2% - Estonia, 22.9% - Lithuania. account for 48.8% of all cargo handled in the ports of Baltic states,
