Denmark's Maersk 2007 net profit rises 15 pct
Danish shipping and oil group A.P. Moller-Maersk (MAERSKb.CO: Quote, Profile, Research) on Thursday posted a 15 percent rise in 2007 net profit, above expectations, and said it was considering the sale of non-strategic assets.
Net profit rose to 18.7 billion Danish crowns ($3.91 billion) from 16.2 billion in 2006 and compared with the average forecast of 17.6 billion in a Reuters poll. Sales were 278.9 billion in 2007, against 260.1 billion in 2006.
The conglomerate -- which runs the world's largest container shipping operator -- said it expected a net profit of 18 to 20 billion crowns in 2008.
