Onega terminal to raise transshipment of automobiles from 800 to 1,500 units

Within the framework of agreement concluded between Oslo Marine Group and RTL, the terminal Onega started acceptance and handling of Peugeot and Citroen automobiles arriving to Russia. According to the group’s press center, in February 2008, the terminal handled the first batch of French cars (800 units). In March-April 2008, it is planned to raise automobile flow of Peugeot-Citroen via Onega to 1,500 units per month.

Onega LLC is multifunctional port terminal established within the framework of Oslo Marine Group late in 2005. The new terminal specializes on ro-ro cargo. Expected average annual turnover of import cars should make 120-150 thou, thus transit of cars via land cross border points of the Leningrad region is to decrease considerably. From March 2007, Onega accepts cargo twice in 10 days. It takes no more than 72 hours to handle 750 ro-ro units. The terminal handles Nissan, Peugeot, Citroen and other ro-ro cargo.
