Evergreen upgrades Far East/Adriatic service with bigger ships

The 5,090-TEU Ital Laguna became the largest Evergreen containership to sail the Adriatic Sea when it called at Trieste last week.
The 294-metre vessel will be one of the three sister ships to call at the Trieste Marine Terminal (TMT) on a weekly run known as the China-Adriatic (ADR) service.
Three other sister ships will join the service to replace smaller vessels on the rotation. The ADR uses seven vessels on a rotation of Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Yantian, Tanjung Pelepas, Alexandria, Dekheila, Taranto, Trieste, Koper, Rijeka, Taranto, Tanjung Pelepas and Shanghai.
The 54,152-ton Ital Laguna is 294 metres long and 32 metres abeam and can move at 24.3 knots.
