Shipping schedule of the new service has been worked out and the vessel serving the route will depart in Quanzhou on Wednesdays and reach Manila three days later, the report said.
Port of Quanzhou has been lacking in foreign trade services and shipments from the area to southeast Asia have to be transitted via the nearby Xiamen port, the report said.
The new Quanzhou service claims to provide the best transit time from Fujian to southeast Asia, the report said.
There are some southeast Asia services that start from Fuzhou and Xiamen, but they also call at Hong Kong, Shantou or Guangzhou. While the Quanzhou-Manila service is a direct service without going through Xiamen of Fuzhou and thus, takes less time, the report explained.
