Shipbuilding plant “Zaliv” lays down a hull of service vessel for ULSTEIN HULL AS

Kerch-based shipbuilding plant “Zaliv” (Ukraine) has laid down a hull of a vessel for the Norwegian shipbuilding holding ULSTEIN HULL AS, press center of Zaliv reports according to DELFI. The offshore vessel is intended for service of oil platforms. As of today, there are six sections installed in the dry dock of the plant. Their total weight is some 500 tonnes. The plant currently forms the hull. The work is to be completed in October of the current year.

The ship's design is a unique one. The hull's special shape allows to increase navigation capability of the vessel, it also makes the ship more steadfast when storming.

Shipbuilding plant “Zaliv” is one of the largest shipbuilding and ship repair plants of Ukraine. It   specializes in construction of tankers and container carriers as well as in repair of different vessels. As of today the plant is bookedtill 2010. In 2007, Zaliv increased production by 37%, year-on-year. The plant’s profit made UAH 3.7 million.
