In January-February, the port of Turku (Finland) handled 580,300 tonnes of cargo (-16.57%, year-on-year) including 292,000 tonnes of import cargo (-14.99%), 244,000 tonnes of export cargo (-21.91%), 18,700 tonnes of transit cargo (+9.11%). In February, the port handled 290,200 tonnes (-15.4%, year-on-year).
In January-February, 2008, container throughput grew by 36.66%, year-on-year, to 2,833 units, transshipment of trucks and other vehicles fell by 18.49%, year-on-year, to 20,096 units, wagons – by 42.29%, year-on-year, to 1,340 units.
In the reported period, the port’s passenger turnover amounted to 521,500 people (+6%, year-on-year).
The number of calls totaled 429 (-5.92%, year-on-year).
