Multifunctional port terminal Onega handled over 22,000 Nissan automobiles in 2007

In 2007, multifunctional port terminal Onega handled 22,049 Nissan automobiles. Average number of handled calls grew to 2 times per 10 days, the company’s press center reports.

In February 2008 automobile terminal Onega handled the first batch of Peugeot and Citroen. In March-April the number is to grow from 800 units to 1,500 units per month.

Onega LLC is multifunctional port terminal established within the framework of Oslo Marine Group late in 2005. The new terminal specializes on ro-ro cargo. The first phase of the project (2006) implied construction of a terminal covering the territory of 2.5 hectares. Investments into this phase exceeded RUR 500 million.

Further phases (2008-2009) imply expansion by 6 hectares in order to increase the terminal’s initial capacity. Besides, it is planned to link the terminal with the Avtovo railway junction to raise considerably the terminal’s capacity and attractiveness. From March 2008 Onega accepts cargo 4 times a week. As of today, the terminal handles Nissan, Peugeot and Citroen automobiles.
