Georgia, Russia resume sea links

Sea connection between Georgia and Russia is resumed on Thursday. It was stopped on October of 2006.
Russia’s passenger ship The Mikhail Svetlov will sail from Sochi to the port of Batumi in the evening, a representative of the Georgian transport administration told ITAR-TASS. Georgian ships will begin trips on this route in April. Most of demand for this route is expectable in the spring and summer. Flight connection between Georgia and Russia was resumed on March 25.
Moscow declared on Wednesday that mail communication between the two countries would be resumed within two or three weeks.
“Considering that transport service issues have been solved with Georgia and flight connection has been restored, we plan to finish in the nearest time the check of settlements and resume the mail communication,” the chief of Russian Mail, Andrei Kazmin said.
