Commercial Seaport of Odessa to raise net profit by 20% to UAH 180 million in 2008

In 2008, Commercial Seaport of Odessa plans to increase its net profit to UAH 180 million (+20%, year-on-year), Interfax quotes the port’s head Nikolai Pavlyuk according to Gudok.ru.
"The port’s throughput is to grow by some 500,000 tonnes (+1.5%) but we plan to gain in monetary terms,” the head of the port said. In 2008, UAH 245 million are to be invested into the development by the port and UAH 300 million will come from the investors operating in the port.
Key investment projects include the construction of an overpass from the port to the ring road, automobile terminal, container terminal Karantinny Mol and transshipment complexes at Androsovsky Mol.

Odessa Commercial Seaport is located in the south-western part of Odessa Bay at reclaimed territory covering 109.5 hectares. The capacity of the company’s facilities enables it to handle over 14 million tonnes of dry cargo and 24 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo annually.

As of March 27, $1 is equal to UAH 5.05.
