Modernization of coal complex in port Vostochniy

To replace car dumpers is planned at the first stage of modernization of Port Vostochniy coal complex and this work has already started; RIA PrimaMedia was informed in the Department on Public Relations and Advertisement of the Open Joint Stock Company "Vostochniy Port."

The technical documents have been endorsed and the machinery is nearly ready. The new double car dumpers are built in the USA. Heyl & Patterson, Inc., the American company won the tender for this contract.

The specifications of new car dumpers will allow unloading of new open-top wagons of overall dimensions. The machinery is to be delivered in late August - early September, 2008. The equipment will be erected in two stages; one of the axes will stop working while the machinery is replaced. It will take about three month to erect a new car dumper and dismantle the old one.

The contract with American company amounts to nearly 10 million USD; it has equity financing.

John EDELMAN, the President of Heyl & Patterson, Inc. arrived in the Port Vostochniy. He visited the construction site of the III stage of the Coal Complex. Currently it is being prepared and the project is being improved. The positive resolution of Rosexpertiza is expected to be gained. The bids on the contract to supply the equipment have been invited.

Two additional storage facilities with the capacity of 200 thousand tons each, equipped with a stacker, two reclaimers, and conveying systems are planned to be built at the III stage of the Coal Complex. After bringing it into service the throughput capacity of the Complex will increase. The project provides the modernization of the port railway station Nakhodka - Vostochniy; it is necessary to build more access rail roads.
