Singapore's Keppel unit wins 2 shipbuilding contracts worth S$210 million

Singapore industrial conglomerate Keppel Corp. said on Wednesday its unit Keppel Singmarine Pte Ltd. has won two shipbuilding contracts worth S$210 million ($155.6 million).
Keppel Singmarine will build a derrick pipelay vessel for Global Offshore International Ltd, a unit of U.S.-listed Global Industries Ltd.
In a separate deal, Keppel Singmarine will construct a 100-metre Rolls-Royce designed UT 788 CDL ultra-deepwater multi-functional support vessel For Lewek Shipping Pte Ltd., a unit of Singapore-listed Ezra Holdings Ltd.
Global Industries and Ezra provide support services to the oil and gas industry.
"Demand for offshore support vessels remains strong, with customers now making enquiries for larger and more powerful ships," Hoe Eng Hock, executive director at Keppel Singmarine, said in a statement.
Keppel SingMarine is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Limited.
