Iran, Azerbaijan sign protocol of cooperation in shipping

A session on the problems of Iran-Azerbaijan cooperation in the sphere of port activity and sea transportation was held with participation of representatives of the marine departments of the two countries and the private sector.
A protocol on bilateral cooperation in the sphere of navigation and marine transportations.
The sides confirmed the intention to intensify cooperation in the area of the Caspian Sea.
The due announcement was made by the ISNA agency with reference to Alirezu Satei, member of the executive committee of the Iranian Organization of Ports and Shipping, deputy chief of the said organization on ports and special economic zones.
Satei announced that on the said sessions the chiefs of the marine departments of Azerbaijan and Iran confirmed need to observe signed memorandums regarding control over the movement of ships, conduction of search and rescue activities offshore and prevention of the Caspian Sea pollution.
Following the session, the delegation of Azerbaijan visited the port complex Bender -Homeyni. Here the talks participants familiarized with the potential of the airport in ensuring marine transportations.
During the visit, the sides also considered participation of the Azerbaijani side in the investment projects.
