In January-April, 2008, commercial seaport of Izmail (Ukraine) increased its throughput by 4.7%, year-on-year, to 2.6 million tonnes. According to the port’s administration, the port handled 906,000 tonnes of transit cargo (+9.6%), RBC reports. Transit of coal grew by 7%, rolled metal – by 31.1%, fertilizers – by 6.4%. Transshipment of export coke grew by 14.3%, year-on-year, ore – by 9%. In 2007, throughput of Izmail commercial seaport increased by 0.6%, year-on-year, to 6.9 million tonnes, net profit – by 11.7%, to UAH 3.23 million.
