CMA CGM doubles Asia-South America coverage

CMA CGM will launch a new loop on its SEAS service between Asia and South America East Coast on June 20, in partnership with CSCL, Maruba and “K” Line.
The coverage of the SEAS service will effectively double with the implementation of two complementary strings (SEAS I and SEAS II), operated each with 10 vessels of an average nominal capacity of 2,500 TEUs.
CMA CGM will deploy a total of nine vessels, CSCL five, Maruba four and “K” Line two.
The respective weekly rotation of each loop will be as follows:
SEAS I
Qingdao - Pusan - Shanghai – Xiamen – Chiwan – Port Kelang – Rio de Janeiro – Santos – Buenos Aires – Montevideo - Rio Grande – Itajaí – Santos – Port Kelang– Hong Kong
SEAS II
Shanghai – Ningbo – Hong Kong – Shekou – Port Kelang – Santos – Buenos Aires – Sao Francisco do Sul – Paranagua – Santos – Rio de Janeiro – Durban – Port Kelang – Hong Kong – Shanghai.
“This new development enables CMA CGM to double the capacity offered by the SEAS service, which will deploy a total of nine CMA CGM vessels,” said Jean-Yves Duval, deputy vice-president Latin America lines.
“This will significantly increase our market share on the rapidly expanding trade between Asia and South America east coast. Thanks to this new organisation, SEAS will be the only service on the market to offer direct connections between North China and South America east coast.”
