Murmansk Shipping Company completes winter navigation in Arctic region

Two last vessels were lead by the Taimyr nuclear icebreaker from Dudinka port, headquarters of maritime operations of Murmansk Shipping Company reports. According to the company, the last vessels were m/v Yuri Arshenevski of Murmansk Shipping Company and m/v Captain Man of Far East Shipping Company. Thus, winter navigation of 2008 has been over in the port of Dudinka. On May 23 both vessels left Yenisei Bay for the west. Nuclear icebreakers Taimyr and Arctic will return in late May.

20 hours after the vessels left the port the berths were flooded. This spring water level is expected to reach 15 meters, which is an average level, while the maximal was up to 18 meters. When the flood ends first vessels will enter the port on June 17-18, headquarters of maritime operations of Murmansk Shipping Company reports.
