Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Masimov has declared the country's oil and gas sector open to investment by U.S. companies, Interfax reports.
At a meeting with U.S. congressmen on Monday, Masimov stressed that the Kazakh government would guarantee the stability of existing contracts and the country is open to further investment, the prime minister's press service said.
"Masimov noted that Kazakhstan, as a large trade and investment partner of the U.S. in Central Asia, will continue to support the principles of a full-fledged, open and constructive partnership," the press service said.
