Problems of the oil and gas sector in Russia and other former Soviet republics making up the Commonwealth of Independent States will be in the focal point of a CIS Oil and Gas forum that opens in Paris Wednesday, Itar-Tass reports.
The first day of this three-day event will be devoted to the Russian oil and gas industry. The participants will do an overview of the Russian government’s policies and legislative reforms in the fuel and energy industries and will also discuss new oil and gas projects.
The second day will be devoted to exports of oil and gas from Russia and other CIS states. The participants will consider financial issues and investment projects in Russia, Ukraine and the Caspian Sea area, independent gas projects, as well as various aspects of energy resources supplies from Russia and some other CIS countries.
On the third day, the forum will consider governmental policies of states in the Caspian littoral area and Central Asian countries.
Executives from a number of largest Russian, CIS and foreign companies are expected to attend the forum. The list of Russian companies taking part includes Rosneft, Gapzrom, LUKOIL and some others.
Executives from large international corporations engaged in Russian projects will also attend.
For instance, the event will be opened by the CEO of the French corporation Total that is one of a trio of companies due to develop the huge offshore Shtokmanovsky gas condensate deposit. The other two members of the trio are Russia’s Gazprom and StatoilHydro from Norway.
