Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on Tuesday suggested the possibility of producing automobiles in Siberia and the Far East while taking into account Russia's obligations in talks to join the World Trade Organization, Interfax reports.
"We should return to the issue of possibly producing automobiles in the Siberia and Far East federal districts, and if within the context of our negotiation process to join the WTO we find a formula, then we should extend the industrial assembly regime in regard to production of components, engines and vehicles taking into account our obligations," Putin said following a meeting on the development of the country's automotive industry, held at the Alabuga free economic zone.
