Prosecutor’s office of Leningrad region investigates the fact of explosion at Kirishi refinery

Prosecutor’s office of the Leningrad region investigates the fact of explosion at Kirishi refinery. On May 29, 2008, a fire broke out at 0224 Moscow time at the compressor unit at the territory of Kirishinefteorgsintez LLC (Kirishi, Leningrad region). The fire was caused by explosion of hydrogenous mixture. Five people were injured, one died. The injured persons have been delivered to Kirishi Central Hospital. The fire was distinguished at 0321 Moscow time. The technological process has not been interrupted. Operational Investigation Group and representatives of Prosecutor’s office work at the site. Upon the results of investigation a decision is to be taken as regards instigation or non-instigation of a criminal case.
