Oslo Marine Group and Kalmar sign protocol of intent on delivery of port equipment

On May 28, 2008, Oslo Marine Group and Cargotec RUS LLC (Kalmar’s official representative in Russia) signed an agreement on delivery of equipment for port complex of Oslo Marine. According to the company’s press center, the agreement followed the negotiations held between Vitaly Archangelsky, President of Oslo Marine Group, and Cargotec’s President and CEO Mikael Mäkinen, as well as the visit of Kalmar representatives to Onega and Vyborg Port aimed at avaluation of infrastructure’s technical state.

According to the protocol of intent, within the nearest 2 years Oslo Marine Group is to buy from Cargotec RUS LLC 14 units of handling equipment for automobile terminal Onega and Vyborg Port. The equipment is to include reach stackers for handling of loaded and empty containers, pneumatic tired and track-riding frame cranes, container trucks and tow cars, trans-lifters.

Technical upgrading and port infrastructure development is the part of the Group’s project on modernization of its port assets. According to the holding’s management, the above equipment is to raise the efficiency of Onega and Vyborg Port by several times.

Oslo Marine Group was set up in 1999. As of today, the group is a multifunctional structure engaged in different spheres mainly port services, insurance, leasing, real estate, treatment and sale of timber.  

As of March 1 2008, the Group’s consolidated assets totaled RUR 13 billion.
