Hamburg Sud will drop its Ybarra Sud brand

German-based Hamburg Süd shipping group will drop its Ybarra y Cia. Sudamérica S.A. (Ybarra Sud) brand and replace it with Hamburg Süd Iberia from the beginning of next year.The company says the move is aimed present itself worldwide under the unified Hamburg Süd brand.Hamburg Süd took over the business activities of the long-established Spanish shipping company at the end of last year. It had worked with Ybarra since the end of the 80s on the basis of a joint venture. Ybarra Sud specialises in the trade between the western Mediterranean and South America East Coast.A statement says: “Through brand consolidation Hamburg Süd is pursuing the goal of linking the entire range of its operations as closely as possible, taking advantage of synergies and, as a result, achieving added value in its services for its customers. The change of name from Ybarra Sud to Hamburg Süd therefore takes place with absolutely no break in continuity: contacts, postal address, telephone and fax numbers and email address remain the same.”
