Hanjin Shipping to offer Malta-Adriatic Feeder service

South Korea's Hanjin Shipping is launching a new Malta Adriatic Feeder (MAF) service from June 19.
The new MAF is a dedicated feeder service in which one 1,000-TEU vessel will be deployed to connect Malta to Koper in Slovenia and to Venice, Italy on a weekly basis.
Hanjin Shipping said that Malta will be added to its current MAP (Mediterranean-Asia-America Pendulum) and MEX (Mediterranean Express) services to connect with the new MAF. With these services, the company will continue to expand its service in the Adriatic Sea region, a statement said.
"Hanjin Shipping expects that the launch of this new dedicated service will help secure the rising demand in the Mediterranean area as well as extend the scope of its service in the nearby regions including Hungary, Slovakia, southern Germany and Austria," it said.
The carrier said that it aims to further develop its feeder network in Europe, particularly due to the development of its dedicated terminal in Algeciras, Spain.
