Investments in Leningrad Region will make over $3 billion in 2006, the region’s governor Valery Serdyukov told journalists, RIA Novosti reports. In 2005, investments amounted to about $2.5 billion in the region. This year volume of investments will grow by 30%. According to Serdyukov, the forecast for the next year growth is even higher. Serdyukov says Leningrad Region is the third one in Russia as regards volume of investments. “We have significant projects of Leningrad Region development in reserve,” Serdyukov said without disclosing the details.
